ACFE Chapters 2015 Year in Review

As another year comes to a close, we can reflect on the global growth of the ACFE and how local chapters are supporting anti-fraud professionals around the world. Here are some of the highlights from ACFE chapters in 2015:

New Chapters

The ACFE welcomed nine new chapters in 2015, all nine of which are located outside of the U.S.:

Chapter Awards Winners

At the 26th Annual ACFE Global Fraud Conference in Baltimore, the Maryland Chapter was named Chapter of the Year, while the Houston Area Chapter was recognized with the Chapter Newsletter of the Year award. Additionally, Detective Rick Belik, CFE, a Heartland Chapter director, received the ACFE Award for Outstanding Achievement in Outreach/Community Service and Houston Area Chapter president Ryan Hubbs, CFE, was presented the James R. Baker Speaker of the Year Award.

Chapter Leaders Meeting in Baltimore

A record number of nearly 90 chapter leaders attended the Chapter Leaders Meeting and Reception featuring presentations by Houston Area Chapter president Ryan Hubbs, CFE, and Vancouver Chapter president Carmen Wiechers, CFE.

Upgraded Resources for Chapter Leaders

Based on your feedback, several initiatives were completed this year to make your life as a chapter leader easier.

Free Chapter Webinar

More than 3600 ACFE chapter members and their colleagues took advantage of the free webinar promotion offered as a “thank you” to our members for their involvement in their chapters.

Scholarship Challenge

Nearly $18,000 was raised by ACFE chapters to support the Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship Program in the 2015 Scholarship Challenge. Several chapters qualified for prize packages including the Houston Area Chapter (Platinum level), the Dallas and Maryland Chapters (Silver level), and the Northeast Oklahoma, Greater Chicago and Tallahassee Chapters (Bronze level).

While 2015 was a banner year for ACFE chapters, 2016 is poised to be an even better year as chapters strive to bring more training, networking and leadership opportunities to their members.
