2014 Year in Review

It’s hard to believe that 2014 is almost over. In my first full year as chapter development manager, I have met so many of the great people who work as volunteers to keep the ACFE’s more than 160 local chapters running successfully.

Before the year draws to an end, let’s take a look at some of the highlights from 2014:

New Chapters

The ACFE welcomed 16 new local chapters, more than half outside the U.S., including three in the fourth quarter:

Chapter Awards Winners

The Houston Area Chapter was crowned Chapter of the Year, while the Toronto Chapter took home the prize for Chapter Newsletter of the Year at the 25th Annual ACFE Global Fraud Conference in San Antonio.

Chapter Leaders Meeting at Annual Conference

A record crowd of more than 80 chapter leaders from around the world gathered to share ideas and discuss the 2014 Chapter Leaders Resource Guide at the chapter leaders meeting and reception in San Antonio.

Scholarship Fundraising Challenge

The Scholarship Fundraising Challenge was launched in 2014. Contributions are still being tallied, but so far more than $20,000 has been raised for the Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship for future fraud fighters.

I have learned a lot from our chapter leaders around the world about how our chapters operate and what kind of support you need as chapter leaders. I hope to use this knowledge in 2015 to bring you more tools and resources that make each ACFE chapter even stronger than before.
