At the 29th Annual ACFE Global Fraud Conference in Las Vegas, the Las Vegas ACFE Chapter organized a Foundation Charity Poker Tournament. Forty-three participants used their deception-detection skills and competed in the tournament. Overall, the event raised more than $4,500 for the ACFE Foundation.

ACFE Offers Free Registrations to Conferences

In exchange to helping promote our Global and regional conferences, the ACFE offered 36 complimentary registrations to supporting chapters. These registrations were accepted by chapter leaders or awarded to chapter members.

Other Accomplishments

  • The U.K. Chapter held a new innovative networking opportunity called Find a Fraudster. The objective was to move around the room and meet new friends and colleagues, while also correctly identifying the fraudster in the room.

  • The Orange County Chapter reached out to the U.K. Chapter to get more details about the Find a Fraudster event. The Orange County Chapter eventually collaborated with the San Diego and the Inland Empire Chapters to hold their own Find a Fraudster event, which received very good reviews.

  • Upon hearing that ACFE President Jim Ratley was retiring, the Austin Chapter honored Jim by getting a proclamation from the Mayor of Austin and dedicating March 31, 2018 as James D. Ratley Day in Austin, TX.

  • The Luxembourg Chapter was approved on July 25, 2018. Their first event sold out with more than 250 attendees. Their keynote was the Head of the Luxembourg Police Services.

  • The Georgia Area Chapter held a career fair for five universities in the state. Experts from federal and state agencies and from Fortune 500 companies participated as presenters or panelists. More than 150 students attended.

  • Chapters continue to set attendance records at their conferences. The Houston Area Chapter’s Annual Conference had 322 attendees; the Central Ohio Chapter partnered with the Ohio Auditor of the State and their attendance was nearly 700.

  • The South Africa Chapter held the 11th Annual ACFE Africa Fraud Conference, bringing more than 900 attendees from throughout the continent to their event.

  • European chapters helped the ACFE promote the 2018 ACFE Fraud Conference Europe. With their help, the conference sold out with more than 250 attendees.

  • Nearly 25 Chapters signed up to support Fraud Week.

We would like to thank each and every one of you for supporting ACFE initiatives and volunteering your time to provide assistance to our members. You provide an invaluable service to the anti-fraud community around the globe. We look forward to another great year and more accomplishments in 2019.
