Changes to the ACFE Chapter Awards

Each year, the ACFE presents two awards to ACFE chapters at the Global Fraud Conference. These awards are the Chapter of the Year award and the Chapter Website of the Year. Due to the growth of the ACFE and with the number of chapters continuing to increase, we felt it was time we make some changes to the awards given to our chapters.

The first major change is to the Chapter of the Year award. With nearly 200 chapters worldwide and so many chapters deserving of this award, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to choose just one winner. This is why we’ve decided to recognize two chapters for this award: one for large-market chapters and the other for small-market chapters. The distinction will be made by the number of ACFE members in a chapter’s geographic area. We hope this change will help encourage more chapters to submit a nomination for this award and be recognized for their achievements.

The other change is we will no longer be offering the award for the Chapter Website of the Year after 2022. Instead, we will be giving an award based on the chapter’s commitment to community service and charitable causes, as well as efforts to spread fraud awareness outside of the ACFE community. We believe this award more accurately reflects the mission of our chapters.

As with all other ACFE awards, the chapter will need to submit a nomination form to be considered for the award. The questions below will be used in the survey:

  • What specific achievements qualify the nominee for the Chapter Community Outreach and Service award? Please focus on outreach done in the previous year (2022).

  • Describe the community service projects in which the nominee has been involved.

  • Have the community service projects resulted in a recognized improvement of a community? What were the specific results and how did the nominee accomplish these results?

  • How has the nominee promoted fraud awareness outside of standard chapter activities? Examples may include tv/radio interviews, articles written, etc.

  • Are there any local laws or regulations that prevent you from participating in community service projects that the committee should be aware of?

  • Do you have any additional comments you believe will assist the committee in the selection process?

We look forward to hearing what chapters are doing to support the local community and recognizing chapters with these new awards.
