Cyber Fraud Event in Chennai Sells Out

The Chennai Chapter of the ACFE conducted a full-day anti-fraud conference on April 21, 2017, titled Countering Cyber Fraud Risks. This sold-out event drew attendees from all over India and was very well received.

The event started with the ACFE anthem followed by a welcome message from the chapter co-founder and president Raman Narasimhan, CFE. Following Narasimhan, chapter co-founder and vice president Vittal Raj, CFE discussed the current activities and upcoming initiatives of the chapter, and encouraged everyone to spread the value of the CFE credential to anti-fraud professionals. 

Attendees were from large corporations, banks, consulting firms and more. They took away tips, tools, and techniques they can use immediately in their roles in the region. With the theme being cyber fraud, speakers presented on digital forensics, the need to be tech savvy, current Indian legislation and whistleblower mechanisms in the digital world. They also offered a special keynote session from an experienced neuropsychiatrist titled, “The Godfather Paradox! Unraveling the Socially Enabled Psychopath”.

Attendees at this year’s conference also received a detailed look at the 2016 Report to the Nations on Occupational Fraud and Abuse, which is published based on the Global Fraud Study conducted by the ACFE.
